While working in educational or instructional spaces (both academic & not) it has become important to me to think of myself less as a teacher & more of a facilitator—less as someone who has the answers & more like someone who is charging a space with specific intention to allow for an anti-hierarchical / horizontal sharing of experience. This is, of course, much more challenging when tied to certain institutions (like colleges or universities) but still, we find our way in.
