Justin LoBasso—a musician, poet, composer, audio artist & long-time collaborator—was the first person I lived with when I landed in Harlem from Tennessee in 2015. Though we’ve since moved countless times into numerous new apartments, an odd recurrence seemed to follow us—one of us always ends up living in unit 3C of our respective buildings. I don’t believe in coincidence & care even less for fate, but somewhere in-between must be something. Once this connection dawned on us that was all she wrote. 3C was the name & it stuck.

Though Justin & I have collaborated on a wide range of projects with their own unique titles & ambitions, 3C is how we’ve come to think of ourselves when engaged in that mutual space of inspiration / improvisation / exhange. We’re certainly not a band, though we do occasionally cover songs, so if it helps to think of us that way, I can’t stop you.
